Moving to Morris
Located just 30 miles west of NYC, Morris County might seem like it should be a highly populated county due to its location, but it is actually only the tenth most populous county in New Jersey. Still, many people who move here do end up commuting to NYC for work and as such the area is the sixth wealthiest county in the United States.
While it might not have the amenities that other counties in New Jersey have, Morris still has plenty to offer its residents. Enjoy some classical music with the Baroque Orchestra of New Jersey or watch live theater at the Centenary Stage Company. For a bit of nostalgia, head to the Morristown Game Vault to enjoy some classic arcade games and pinball machines.
When it comes to the outdoors, you’re spoiled for choice. Do some bird watching at the NJ Audubon Scherman Hoffman Wildlife Sanctuary. Or go to the Frelinghuysen Arboretum and explore the 127-acre preserve. To add a bit of history to your outdoor adventures, visit Morristown National Historical Park for some beautiful nature and insight into the revolutionary war.
While there aren’t as many restaurants and retail stores in Morris compared to other counties, you can definitely find a few gems. South + Pine offers classic American cuisine and is a local favorite. There’s also the Committed Pig if you’re looking for some amazing burgers. In the mood for some Chinese Hunan Taste Chinese offers traditional dishes specializing in Hunan, Szechuan, and Mandarin cuisine.
